What is a mental health coach?

A trainer for your mind — not a therapist.

A mental health coach is a partner who helps you build the daily habits, mindset, and accountability that keep you well — before things reach a crisis. Coaching is not therapy and not a replacement for professional treatment. It’s the work that happens between appointments: the practice, the check-ins, the small wins that compound into lasting change. If you’ve ever wished mental health had a “personal trainer” the way fitness does, that’s exactly what a mental health coach is.

I’m Dave Miller, a mental health coach and the founder of White Rock Mental Fitness. I’ve spent 25 years learning to carry my own invisible backpack — and helping others carry theirs. I host The Mentally ill Mentor podcast, I speak on stages about mental health, and I’m the author of The Mentally ill Mentor: Practical Principles for Achieving and Maintaining Balance in Your Life. I’m not a doctor or a therapist. I’m a coach. I teach what has actually worked, day after day, for decades.

Is coaching right for you?

Built for people who are done waiting to feel better.

Mental health coaching is for adults who have wrestled with anxiety or depression for years — often quietly, often alone — and want to get ahead of it before it gets ahead of them. You don’t need a diagnosis. You don’t need to be in crisis. You just need to be ready to train. If you’re looking for a mental health coach who meets you where you are and helps you build something that lasts, you’re in the right place.

Investment

Pay what fits your life.

Sessions are $175. If that’s out of reach right now, you choose a rate that works for you — as low as $50 per session. Nobody is turned away for money, and nobody asks questions. Getting stronger shouldn’t depend on your bank account.

Your first step weighs nothing.

One free 20-minute call. We’ll talk about where you are, where you want to be, and whether coaching with me is the right fit. If it’s not, I’ll tell you.
